Mary MacMahon

Mary MacMahon is Senior Vice President of Human Resources Strategies at Eastern Point Consulting Group, Inc., a management consulting firm specializing in helping organizations manage change effectively. Eastern Point offers expertise in the management of diversity, organizational development and strategic change management.

Ms. MacMahon brings significant corporate experience having built a career of over 15 years in the Human Resources Profession. As a Human Resources Manager she had responsibility for the management of a number of HR disciplines including employee relations, recruiting, and training. Ms. MacMahon provided consultation to managers and employees on issues such as conflict resolution, performance management, separations, compensation equity, salary actions, employee relations, and benefits.

Ms. MacMahon has demonstrated particular expertise in the implementation and management of HR strategies, programs, and results that support corporate strategic goals. Examples include:

  • Provided one on one executive coaching to the HR manager of a major health care company. Coaching enabled her to understand how she was perceived in the organization and take the necessary and appropriate steps to increase her effectiveness.
  • Designed and implemented a diversity assessment for a multi-office law firm. Based on the Findings of the assessment, designed and delivered a diversity awareness training program for all attorneys.
  • Designed and implemented a mentoring program for partners and associates in a major law firm. Delivered both mentor training and a mentoring orientation program to begin the program, and designed and administered a mentor debrief program to determine the effectiveness of the program. Made recommendations based on the findings of the debrief, as appropriate.
  • Conducted many investigations regarding complex and sensitive Employee Relations issues. Her effective intervention enabled the parties to resolve issues satisfactorily and without outside litigation or involvement.
  • Designed and implemented a Human Resources Managerís Manual. This manual clarified the companyís HR policies and procedures and enabled managers to implement these policies consistently and fairly.

Ms. MacMahon has designed and conducted corporate training and development programs in diversity awareness, mentoring, leadership, effective performance management, interviewing, manager and new employee orientation, transition management and sexual harassment prevention.

Ms. MacMahon received her Masters Degree in Human Resources Management from Emmanuel College and her BS in Business from Skidmore College. She completed Mediation Training through Mediation Works Inc., is qualified in the Myers Briggs Type Indicator, and is certified by Zenger Miller.
